Job in international high-tech companies (branches in Russia)

Here I want a little discuss about ways for university graduates in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering majors to obtain an interesting and useful (for self-development) job in Russian branches of international high-tech companies. I wouldn't consider Russian development organizations (named "FGUP"), or some small start-up companies, because of another topic for discussion. I concentrate on international companies and vendors only.

HotNews: since November 2012
Quantenna Communication is opening Research, Development & Deployment Center in Sankt-Peterburg. The center has plan to hire about 100 professionals up to middle 2013. Detailed information about this center you can read in Russian here.

Message from N. Mikhailov: "Building R&D office from ground zero. Hiring."

In Moscow you can find two big R&D center (Samsung and Huawei). We are always hiring qualified  professionals in the following areas:

  • FPGA and DSP programming
  • Algorithm Design for DSP
  • Wireless Communications
  • Image Processing
  • Video Technologies (video/audio codecs, fave-to-face conference systems)
  • Wireless Power Transfer
  • Power Supply Development
  • a lot of IT directions (Cloud Computing, HPC, Enterprise Solutions, RT OS, Security Systems, etc.)

Samsung and Huawei R&D centers in Moscow are interesting in professionals with >3 years experience, or  Cand. of Sc. with >1 year experience for different engineering positions, and Dr. of Sc. for principal engineering position or consultant.

Fresh graduates can send CV to Huawei: Technical Support and Deployment Department or Software Department. Also graduates can work in Samsung R&D Center at intern and engineer positions. Usually, Samsung has job fairs in May-June and October-November.

In Moscow you can find offices of Cadence and Mentor Graphics, and
in Sankt Peterburg - Mentor Graphics and Synopsys  -  world leaders in CAE-, CAD-tools.
Cisco, IBM and HP has engineering departments in Moscow, but Intel has engineering department in Moscow and research department in Nizhniy Novgorod. Also Nokia-Siemens Networks (NSN) has research and engineering department in Sarov.
Also you can send resume to MStar Semiconductors and AqTrack Technologies (both in S.Peterburg).

Don't forget about MTS, Beeline, Megafon - there are a lot of opportunities in Measurement and Network Planning Division over the Russian Federation.

Also I recommend to use LinkedIn service for job search too.

Be lucky and get a good job!
